The Future Leaders Scholarship empowers the next generation of flood management professionals. By supporting students who are committed to building a safer and more resilient nation, the scholarship helps cultivate future leaders who will carry forward the Foundation’s vision of reducing flood losses and managing flood risks.

About Our Scholarships

The ASFPM Foundation Future Leaders Scholarship offers up to $20,000 per year for the last two years in a four or five year undergraduate program and is for students studying fields related to floodplain and flood risk management. The scholarship supports undergraduate studies only and is aimed at students committed to a career that reduces the risk and impacts of floods on people and communities. Each year the Foundation selects one new Future Leaders Scholar. The application deadline is February 1st of each year.

Sierra Snowden, 2026 - 2028 FLS Recipient


Sierra Snowden attends the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, located in Terre Haute, Indiana. Sierra will receive scholarship donations of $20,000 for both the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years.
